Habakkuk 3:2
Lord, I have heard of Your fame;
I stand in awe of Your deeds, oh Lord;
renew them in our day,
in our time, make them known;
in wrath, remember mercy.

We have heard of the awesome things that God has done for His people,
and we continually hear about the great wonders that He has
accomplished elsewhere.  Why then, are we so hesitant to believe
in the MIRACLES that He can do in our own LIVE, FELLOWSHIPS,
CONGREGATIONS AND CHURCHES?  This verse summarizes my yearning to
see God's people passionately praising the Lord.  It sums up my
heart to see change starting with the four walls of my church, moving
into the hearts of my congregation and onto the nation and the world!

Habakkuk was a prophet in the days of Babylon.  He spoke with God
and asked why He had forsaken Jerusalem.  This short book is a
dialogue between God and Habakkuk. His desperate questions are answered
by God's solemn voice.  In chapter 1, Habakkuk asks the Lord why
He is allowing the corruption and desecration of the Temple and the
destruction of Jerusalem and the Jewish people.  An
answer is given in chapter 2 and God tells Habakkuk to patiently wait
as His plan unfolds.  Chapter 3 is Habakkuk's revelation of God's
awesome and sovereign power.

This verse epitomizes my prayer for God's people.  I have heard of
His fame, and I stand in utter awe and amazement of His works.  It
is my prayer that His power would be renewed in our day, and that in
our present time, He would make His wonders known to all.  In
wrath, I ask Him to remember mercy...
